EGG ENERGY - Iecava, Latvia

EggEnergy, a biogas plant based 100% on poultry manure, was built and started operation as part of the SEP project in 2015. The current power capacity of the cogeneration plant is 2 MW. The amount of heat produced is 2.1 MW. The plant upgrade project, designed in 2023, will increase the production capacity by 50%, reaching 3 MW. The upgrade will make the EggEnergy biogas plant an even more efficient and sustainable source of green energy. With the increased output, the plant will be able to feed more power to the local grid, reducing dependence on fossil fuels and contributing to the use of green energy and to sustainable growth.
